Interventional Cardiology

The department has excellent facilities for clinical care and has fully developed facilities for adult and pediatric interventions including coronary interventions, valvuloplasty, device closure of congential shunts and electrophysiology services(including radiofrequency ablation, pacemaker, bi-ventricular pacemaker and cardioverter defibrillator implantation). Laboratory testing facilities include trademill testing, holter recording, echocardiography including transthoracic,transesophageal,3-D and fatal echocardiography. Tilt Testing for syncope and up to date electrophysiology services.

Cardiothoracic CCU
They are well equipped with beside color doppler, echocardiography system, continuous oxygen supply, infusion pumps, defibrillator, ventilators, invasive as well as non-invasive pressure monitoring systems, temporary pace maker(transdermal as well as transvenous), intra aortic ballon pump,ABG(Blood Gas machine) and electrolytes analysis machines.

Electrophysiology
Electrophysiology studies have been used for decades to evaluate cardiac arrhythmias and to get a basic understanding of their mechanisms.Venticular , tachyarrhythmias are the commonest cause of sudden cardiac death(SCD).The patients have been investigated by an EP study and, if required, provided with implantable cardioverter defibrillator(ICD) as a life saving device.

Non-Inasive Cardiology
The procedures done here include stress echoes, dobutamine stress echoes, vascular dropplers, transoesophageal echoes, intra-operative TEE and fetal echoes.

With a hi-tech cath-lab all facilities are available.
